As Thanksgiving approaches, we are grateful for the past financial support you have given to Creative Dreams.
In late September, our founder, Jackie Stouffer was here to launch her book “Because of Love.” If you have not already purchased it, we are providing the link here: https://a.co/d/0Uwhubu . Jackie shares her story and passion for helping the students we serve. It’s beautifully written and encapsulates many of the traditions that we maintain at the center today. Jackie is graciously allowing the proceeds from her sales to benefit Creative Dreams.
On Saturday, we will host families for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. A generous donor is providing and preparing the meal for us. We also have a group providing beverages and desserts. We look forward to this time of fellowship with our students and their families and we will send them home with Thanksgiving baskets donated for them. Many of us gather easily for the holidays, with plenty of food and joy, but this isn’t always easy for the families we serve.
December is busy with decorating for the Christmas party and getting sponsors to provide gifts for our students.
Other traditions we have continued are celebrating birthdays on Fun Friday (once a month), rewarding our trivia winners with a special field trip once a quarter, and providing school supplies and backpacks. Of course, regular programming still includes the arts, music instruction, movement and six weeks of summer programming.
We could not do all of this without your partnership. We hope to enhance our programming in 2024. We would like to partner with ARTreach to bring in professional artists to work with our students.
